On the 2017 ADEA AADSAS Instructions, it states: "Applicants should record only experiences obtained during college [...]"

I have multiple experiences where I began in high school and continued into college. Should I only count the hours I received during college? For example, I began volunteering at my church sophomore year of high school and continued until my freshman year of college. Including high school, I will have 700 hours; without high school, I will only have 100.

Also, do most people round up/down to approximate numbers or should I list that I did "x" activity for 178 hours instead of 200?

College only, this isn't high school anymore. You list exactly how many hours you have, no rounding.

I think the instructions are pretty self explanatory lol

Well I'm asking about what happens in cases when activities continue onwards from high school into college (obviously I'm not going to list activities I've solely done in high school, which is what the instructions are referencing). I started multiple activities in high school and continued into college. The application asks for the dates and hours.

There are three choices I can take:
1. List the actual dates and hours (e.g., started sophomore year in HS ~ freshman year in college, 700 hours)
2. List the actual dates but only the hours done in college (e.g., started sophomore year in HS ~ freshman year in college, 100 hours)
3. Ignore the actual dates and shift it to the beginning of college (e.g., freshman autumn quarter ~ freshman spring quarter, 100 hours)

I'm just wondering which way would be the best way to go about this. As much as I would like to explain my situation in my application, I would rather use my 175 characters actually explaining what I did while volunteering.

Thanks.

Don't include the hours that you did in HS, admissions committees don't care about them. Talk about it in your personal statement if you want.

Exact amount of hours. Starting from beginning of college.
