I would only put those down if there was a significant leadership or accomplishment associated with them OR you have one that is particularly unusual.
When I was in high school, I put on my application that I had taken a number of flying lessons. I never got my license because I ran out of money. lol. It's expensive to rent planes. But I put it on the application.
Fast forward 6 years to my optometry school interview and there was a lot of interest in that. It made for good interviews.
Yeah, putting down that you were some club president would look desperate but something unique like national spelling bee finalist or maybe horseback riding would be interesting.
