5.87 gpa 2800 SAT, and noble peace prize winner. you?

EDIT i might have been a little harsh but it really doesnt matter unless you plan on applying straight from highschool which for most of us on here, isnt the case.

High school GPA determining factor for Optometry school is irrelevant and has no correlation. Your just going to get sarcastic answers. This is because, someone in optometry school right now could have had a 97 average in high school, and a 3.3 gpa in college....likewise they could have had a 78 average in highschool and 3.8 gpa in college.

I'll answer this since I know the question is related to your other thread.
I had a 3.7 without counting AP credits, but I didn't apply to SUNY.
This got me into a good undergrad, and my grades have only gone downhill since then, haha.

Good luck pursuing your career, make sure to volunteer and start shadowing optometrists...that could offset bad GPAs if you're still worried.
