I am currently a sophomore in high school, and we were asked to plan our classes for next year. I would like to know what I should take. I originally wanted to be a pediatrician, but now I'm leaning toward psychiatrics. What would be a good class to take next year?

Honestly, there's not many classes in high school that are going to benefit you once you reach medical school so you might as well take whatever you will enjoy. I'd be taking various classes to help me decide on what I want to major in in college.

Also any non major classes that offer dual enrollment through a college if possible. Just make sure you do well in it, because it counts toward your gpa. I don't have to take any history classes in college because of this.

Take AP Bio if you haven't already. AP Chem would also be a good choice (but it's hard).

Take whatever interests you, and do well in it. As has been said, anything that gets you college credit (which frees you up from re-taking boring introductory material in college, so you have some credit hours to spend on cooler, more advanced topics) is to be desired.

Try taking an AP Psychology, or AP Biology. Or take a class that interests you.
