I remember when I was in high school waiting for my letters of acceptance (and rejection) to undergrad schools. AAAAAAhhh... those were the good days! Do you remember studying for SAT's (back when they were still out of 1600)? Man.. the anticipation of going to college and imagining life would be completely different... new life and what not. I thought all I needed to accomplish in order to be succesful was to get into undergrad and everything would fall into place.

I was so wrong. On a different note, while I reminisce back my high school years, I can't help but to remember the same feelings of anxiety and fears and compare them with this period of waiting for Pharmacy school decisions. Somehow, I have a feeling that once I get in, I'm gonna look back at the time I used to log onto SDN three times a day, study for Ochem, Volunteer (trabajando sin ganar dinero!), join fun and pointless clubs, and read my interview invitation letters multiple times a week. Im gonna look back and tell myself how silly I was for worrying so much. I think i might even look back and think how long ago I worried abotu such things.

Hopefully, I will be able to be at that confortable place by next year, otherwise i'll be stressing out for one more year. hahaha... what are your guys' thought while ur waiting for decisions? any funny stories? funny high school stories?

Oh i remember the SATs, but I remember being much more confident about my undergrad acceptances than I am about my pharmacy school acceptances. Back in High School I only applied to one school (guess which one), but my stats assured me I didn't need to apply anywhere else (4.0 GPA 1440 SAT). I'm still kicking myself for not applying to 0-6 Pharm Program. Now applying to Pharm school I am not that same overconfident High School Senior. I've applied to 8 Pharmacy Schools, of course my stats are also lower than my high school stats (3.37 PharmCAS GPA and 89 PCAT), but at least I have already received two interview invitations

Are they not out of 1600 anymore?? What are they out of now?... and when did that change?

A writing section was added in 2005. That increased the possible max score to 2400.

Then I'm so glad I took it back in 98-- I really hate writing (when I have to; I actually enjoy freelance writing) even though I've been told countless times that I'm good at it.

I didn't even study for my SATs, and I didn't worry about getting admitted to college - I didn't apply to any Ivy Leagues or anything and knew I would get accepted to the schools I applied. I mostly just worried about what schools would offer me a viable scholarship/financial package - my first choice school (Butler) ended up only giving me half as much money as Purdue, so Purdue it was. Now I'm back to applying to Purdue and Butler! And I definitely studied for my PCATs, and work harder in college than I ever did in high school.

ya i took the SAT the last year they were out of 1600 glad i didnt have to worry about that third section

Are you from Indiana? I ended up going to Indiana University because it's so pretty there; I was thinking about Purdue because it was so much closer to home, but I really wanted to go somewhere that appealed to me aesthetically. I almost went to USC to study film, but I'm glad I choose to go to IU; I have so many fond memories of it.

Maybe you're not from Indiana, but I had to ask because of the two universities you mentioned; now that I live here in Vegas, I really miss it back home (everything except the winters that is). We are thinking about moving back after I'm done with pharmacy school here.

lol I'm the first batch who took the SAT's out of 2400 man.

I hate organic chemistry with a passion! My teacher has no curve. So what you get is what you get.

I need to strive just a bit more before getting into pharm school.

I remember being pretty chilled out most of my two years in training. Another classmate from high-school - a gall used to joke around and refer to me with 'college' at the time - she got in medical school this year. We used to throw a lot of parties in high school and we talked about it a lot so neither was too depressed about the possibility of failing I guess.

Butler is great school, I'm very glad that I choose to attend and I would recommend it to anyone. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Butler is my first choice (I wanted to go there for undergrad but didn't get a big enough scholarship) but I am considered a transfer student, and since it's a 0+6 program it's really, really hard to get into as a transfer. I have a degree from Purdue. Do you know anyone who transferred in, and what their stats are? I've got a really good GPA and PCAT but I know they only plan on taking 3 people this year out of 750 applicants.

Yes, I am from Indiana.

Haha, I have not even applied to pharmacy school yet, and I'm freaking out. I got a C plus in O-chem! I hate that class! 😡
