Hello I'm currently a senior in high school and in the process of applying to colleges. I have set my mind on becoming a pharmacist and I figured that I would save a lot of time if I applied to 6 year PharmD programs instead of going the traditional route. My only problem is that I'm not sure if I'm a competent enough applicant to be accepted.....
I'm applying to:
Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences
Northeastern
University of the Pacific
SUNY University at Buffalo
University of the Sciences
St. John's University
Here are my stats:
Academic GPA (No electives): 3.75 W, 3.38 UW
Total GPA: 3.78 W, 3.44 UW
10-11 GPA: 3.95 W, 3.41 UW
4 AP classes so far, taking 4 more senior year.
29 ACT / 800 Korean with listening / 700 SAT Math Level 2
Extracurriculars: President's volunteer service award (Gold Level) 350 hrs
Academic Decathlon Secretary
Medals awarded from Academic Decathlon
A degree in Kendo (Japanese sport)
I slacked off hard Freshmen/half of Sophomore year (~3.3 Freshmen and ~3.6 Sophomore) but I got 4.3/4.5 GPA Junior year, so I have an upward GPA trend.
I just want to know my chances of being accepted. If I have a slight chance of getting accepted, I'll apply, but if I have no shot at all, then I'll have no choice but to go to a regular 4 year university and then apply to Pharmacy school. I'm also planning to retake ACT on the 26th and score above 31+. I'm from California.
Thanks for any advice/comment!!🙂🙂🙂
