I am curious how much med schools weigh science v. non-science GPA.
For instance I have a 3.4 science gpa and only a 2.7 non-science gpa. I am curious do u think this will hurt me much? will my app get tossed out? thanks for the responses.

I think it depends on your major and how many classes you took as well. If your a science major then the majority of your classes contributed to that 3.4 and the 2.7 were jsut some other random courses needed to graduate. However if your 2.7 is the majority of your classes, then that wont exactly look so great. Regardless good luck to you!

If you kick the MCAT's ass you should be ok for DO schools (30+). Try to get that nonscience up the best you can - my recommendation is to take some joke classes, maybe at a junior college, just to jack it up. You can load up on em over the summer, they should be a piece of cake. It doesn't matter if your college accepts them for transfer, you still report them to AACOMAS and they get factored into the gpa that schools see.
