Delete Morsani, Einstein, Ohio State,UCR, Northstate (for goodness sake!) and CUSM.

Thanks for taking the time to advise me.

Those are schools @Faha advised me to add when I posted before. Although, admittedly, my application looked weaker in my earlier post & I have added a couple of things to my application since then, such as an MD lor & projected hours.

I get that my stats are well above UCR, northstate, CUSM, so I'll likely remove those.

However, I included schools like Morsani (90th percentile 521, 4.00), Einstein (90th percentile 519, 3.97) , Ohio State (90th percentile 523, 4.00) as "safety" mid-tiers, because I'm afraid that the rest of my list is very top-heavy and I'm not quite sure how compelling my application is. ECs seems kind of cookie-cutter to me, but I am definitely spending time on writing my secondaries well.

1) Do you still think my list would be balanced after removing those?
2) Are there any schools I'm missing where I likely wouldn't be yield-protected, but I would also have a reasonable chance as an OOS applicant with high stats?

Northstate thinks so little of their students' well-being that they purposefully deny them access to federal loans and payback mechanisms. They would not deserve your application fee even if they were a "target."
UCR is a mission-based school. You don't fit the mission.
CUSM is way below your stats.
The tippy top matriculants of the other schools often have a strong relationship with the school. They are not random high-stats applicants.
Scan the MSAR for high stat private schools if you want more options.
Someone will probably bite.

Please check the LoE requirements at each school...I hope you don't send us an "MD letter."

What's wrong with an MD letter ? Maybe it's from a doc the student shadowed. Something 'bad" about an MD letter ?

Physicians are congenitally incapable of writing a useful, objective letter. Who could blame them if their only experience of the candidate is when they are shadowing? What are they able to confirm? "Johnny is capable of being really unobtrusive and hardly anyone felt uncomfortable in his presence."
If someone with a substantive relationship (PI, employer...) with the applicant happens to be a physician, that is another matter.
... but DO's do love a DO letter. That's also a different matter.

I suggest:

With a few schools, this is one of those very rare times that I disagree with the very wise gyngyn!

EC’s are sparse for top tier schools but stats should carry you, especially at Washu/NYU/Vandy

@Goro thank you! I will try to trim that list down a bit; I appreciate the suggestions.
