Hey guys! As the title states I am a high-stats applicant with no interviews thus far. I've received Rs from 3 T20s and UWashington in Seattle. I've been seeing my friends getting interviews from places I have applied to and its incredibly demoralizing. I was complete mostly in July/August, taking between 12-14 days to submit each secondary. I ended up panicking and adding more schools in mid-September and now again in October. At this point I have applied to ~50 schools (albeit a third of them after Labor Day). I did have an issue where one of my letter writers did not submit until late August so that help up a few of my applications from being marked complete. When should I give up hope? The only thing that is kinda keeping me going is that my advisor said the cycle is running 1.5 months behind due to the Delta variant.

Also, I read on another thread that sending pre-II letters of interest may help my odds a little bit? Anyone have any info on that?

520, 3.99, LM 76, 150 clinical, 150 nonclinical, 650 research w 3 posters, decent leadership

Great stats, clinical hours pretty low though. Sounds like you applied T20 mostly before adding a bunch late? That would be the reason for no IIs so far if those were the only schools you applied to.

The Sept and Oct add-ons may have not even been processed yet

Things are running a bit slowly from my point of view. Granted, I’m applicant so it doesn’t hold much weight. Wait until thanksgiving until you start worrying but of course always be improving in case you need to reapply.

Can I ask how you made your school list. Applying to UWashington (assuming you’re OOS) tells me that the list may have been rushed and poorly targeted considering it’s basically reserved for in state applicants. Did you apply to other schools like this (Chapel Hill, Florida state, Michigan state etc.)

Goro says not to worry until after Thanksgiving, which is almost a month and a half away. Since the cycle is supposedly behind, you had delays with your LOR, and you've added a lot of schools late, I would not stress this right now.

Your Ecs might be an issue but who knows(any shadowing?). Where did you apply? Of what state are you a resident? Did you use the MSAR to develop your list? I understand you are concerned about no interviews, but stop adding schools. Every school you have submitted a primary to makes you a reapplicant at that school. If you can’t get a few interviews out of 50 applications, adding more schools isn’t going to help. Try to relax.
