Can you highlight on the actual DAT? Just for RC? How does one highlight on the DAT RC? Do the online Bootcamp RC practice tests use the highlight feature, and how does one highlight on Bootcamp? Thanks!

You can highlight on the real DAT. In your 10min tutorial before the exam starts it explains all of the features available during the test.

The highlight function is essentially just like how you "copy and paste" on your computer. If I recall correctly when you select the text you will have to click a button that will highlight the words.

You can only highlight when you are presented with the entire text in the beginning. When you begin answering questions you will see your highlighted text but will not be able to highlight more. You will have to return to the entire passage and continue to highlight there.

When I used Bootcamp up through april, it did not have a highlight function. I do not know if this has changed with the new update.

Best of luck!

Thanks for clarifying I was curious the exact process as well.

I checked BC RC update, and I believe right now, for RC, you can highlight the passage wherever you want, not limited to the entire passage in the beginning. Like you can highlight while reading the questions, Isn't it?

Yes, in BC you could highlight while on the questions. So on the real DAT, can you only highlight in the beginning, or did they change it to highlight anytime?

From what I heard recently from one person who took DAT in July 30ish, 2017, you can highlight anytime. So, basically same as Bootcamp.
Ari from Bootcamp also said, "Update: (June 20th, 2017) I’ve heard from several students that the highlighting feature on the real DAT now works exactly like it does in DAT Bootcamp. That is, if you make highlights after the first initial passage while answering a question, it will remain active for all the questions in that passage. So you can continue to use the highlighting feature however you wish to help you ace the RC section."

I guess all this mean we can do highlighting throughout the questions. doesn't it?
But I would really appreciate if anyone confirms this again lol

Yes that is correct you just drag across the text and the little highlighter will appear and you'll click it
