I'm figuring out my schedule for next fall, and I basically have all bio classes...I need another class to have a full schedule and I've noticed many dschools recommend immunology and histology...but which is more relevant? If it doesn't really make a difference for dschool, then which is easier? 🙂

Thanks!

Histology for sure is more relevant to dental school. It will help you in oral pathology and definitely in human anatomy (the hardest course in dental school). Many of my friends go to UoP's dental school and stated that after taking histology, they did a lot better overall than their classmates. Definitely not an easy class at all, but it will be worth it in the long run.

Take hist, I got my @$$ kicked so I want you to share the same feeling

I'd say histology

IMO,dental schools recommend these courses because they are good indicator for knowing the student can survive in dschool or not. if it is possible take both of them. (unfortunatly my school just offers immunology and I have it right now 😳)

I think immunology is part of microbiology...so take micro instead of immunology, which is def. "easier" than histology. If you take both and get A's, good impression to dschool(s). As I was told "if you take higher-level bio and get a C, it's not that good since you'd lower your GPA, but if you get an A, that's a plus" So, you see we have risk it.

Histo for sure, it will really help with oral path!
