HIV reportable disease?

Is HIV one of the mandatory reportable diseases? Kaplan behavioral lecture notes says only AIDS is reportable, but a web search shows that states such as New York also have HIV as mandatory reportable. So, what is the official USMLE answer to this? Thanks.

p. 57 of first aid 2013 says that many of the exceptions to confidentiality (eg - STD's) are state specific

and p. 235 of brs behavioral 5th edition says that HIV positive status is not reportable in all states.

because it is so state-specific i doubt step 1 would ask such a question.
