SO here is the story.... I am from CA and i already put a deposit down for NOVA. Today USC invited me for an interview. 1: Should i go to the interview, it isnt that far a drive? 2: Is it just for a waitlist spot? 3: Would I even want to go to USC with the current issues they are having?

Any input would be appreciated

You should go to the interview b/c you have NOTHING to lose...you live in CA so you don't have to spend alot of money to get there...
However, I personally would pick Nova over USC b/c its cheaper and NO PBL.

If there's minimal cost involved, I would go. If nothing else, you can clear any doubts from your mind. Nothing to lose really.

Would you even pick USC over Nova? It doesnt seem like your heart is in it to go since youre debating about it.

Well i have heard alot of negatives about USC ........ i am sure NOVA has its fair share, but assuming they let me in I would consider USC. It would be nice to not have to move... But again it all depends on if i think i would be happy at USC... The only real cost is that I would have to take a day off work... and gas...... and frustration of sitting in traffic. But do you really think this is for anything more then just a waitlist spot?

I am doing the NAVY scholarship so cost really isn't the issue

I officially got into Nova the day I was interviewing at USC (11/30). I say at least go to the interview... i thought the school was pretty nice. And they were saying that they'll have redone most of the clinics by august. Obviously you should stay my classmate at Nova, haha... but i gave USC a lot of thought when i got accepted. I also like california a lot, and that's an understatement. But i just thought that nova might be a little less stressful than the PBL at USC... i'm used to lectures. I thought pbl could be cool, but just scared information might fall thru the cracks. And my parents are buying me a condo across the street from nova, so that doesn't hurt lol.

But seriously, check it out especially since you're from cali. Might as well go take a look. It's a really easy interview day too.

As you can tell by the other USC threads, they are still actively handing out spots. They even state on the web site and some of the material sent to applicants that they don’t fill up the last quarter of the class until May (that’s around 37 spots!).

If you have any interest then go to the interview. See if you like it or not, and when you get an acceptance for one of the spots, make your decision then with the info you gained from the interview. 😀

yeah if i can swing it at work I will go check it out

Hey I got the invite too. They gave 5 dates on March and interviewing 30 per day. So I don't think they'll be interviewing for waitlist. If I were you, I would go and see how the school is since you live nearby. Maybe they give out nice lunches at least😀 I am wondering if I should go. I already got into my state school that I will be attending. But I really want to visit USC and see what it's like. I have friends there too.
