so what do u guys think would be the best way to answer the "how does this school rank compared to the other schools you applied to?" question if the school in question was not your top choice? should i be honest and say it's my last choice (if it is) or should i lie and say it's my top choice?

Tell the truth and tell the school that they are your last choice, see how that goes...lol

You do not have to lie but you should kiss a little ass. Look into the school and tell them why you see their program as a great fit for you. Maybe there is some interesting research going on there, you like the location, you like the curriculum structure. Maybe you want to start fresh and you see the school as a good place to do that for so and so reasons. If it is a new school, maybe you like the idea of being part of something new and dynamic that you can help to mold and grow with. They feed you creative literature when they tell you how great their school is. Mix ass kissing with explaining to them why you would compliment their school and be a strong graduate.

Good Luck. Career centers on your campus are good at helping you be creative with these types of essays.

Turn that back to them from another angle: you have narrowed your choice down to maybe three or four schools, so each of those schools IS your "top choice" for one reason or another. For this particular school, it might be something like proximity and association with a major medical center, for another school it might be tuition that puts them at #1, for your third choice school it might be that you have a lot of friends and family who went there and gave you terrific reviews about the school as a whole, for a fourth school it might be the local cost of living and student housing......

I think that if you open this up in terms of "I have applied to X number of schools, and the University of ThisOne is my first choice because of the proximity of reasonable student housing. As a non-traditional student who is returning to school after having done (a tour in the military, or maybe you had a different career path, or maybe stayed home with young kids, or whatever), I know that I place a high priority on (the ability to live alone, the easy access to whatever, anything that fits here) and I believe that O of T.O. will provide me the things I need to meet my personal and professional goals...."

..... or something like that. Point is, out of what, a hundred pharmacy schools in the nation, you've chosen three or four, so each of them is a top choice for one reason or another.

thanks a lot, ur advice really helped me. i just needed to look at it a different way...🙂
