I see alot of repeat questions on the Collins review packet, especially in bio. Is this an indication of high frequency PCAT questions?

Also, Is the 3 practice Pearson PCAT's an indication of the areas in which to study?? (The questions on the pearson pcat, are these the subjects that are definetely covered on the PCAT?)

I don't think anything is definite but I do agree that the Pearson tests give you a very good idea of where you need to improve. The score range that they gave me fit in near perfectly to how I did on the actual PCAT.

I thought those repeats in Collins were a bit annoying, but by the end, I knew the answer to those questions without even looking at the answers. I wouldn't say that just because Colllins repeats it, that it's a definite question on the PCAT, so take it with a grain of salt. Understand all the main concepts and practice for speed and accuracy and you should be fine.

Do you think Collins provides the topics that WILL be on the PCAT, or do I have to go study other stuff like muscle contractions(A band, Z band, etc)

Also, how is Collins for the chemistry?? Verbal?? Math?

Nothing provides info on what WILL be on the PCAT, they provide information on what COULD be on the PCAT.

Muscle contraction is basic A&P and is therefore fair game for the PCAT. My bio section had random questions on drug interactions that I definitely would not have gotten without studying for the tech exam. Did I learn about those drug interactions in Bio/A&P/Micro? Nope, but it was still on the exam.

Assuming that you took the classes, the information is probably in your memory somewhere. If anything, you just need to review it over for it to come flowing back to you.

Collins seemed on the dot for verbal, helped greatly with bio, chem and quant. Sucked majorly on reading so use kaplan or something else for that.

Overall, Collins provides a good guideline of things to study & provides excellent practice questions. Does he cover absolutely everything? No. But then does anything cover absolutely everything? No.

It seems like an indication of laziness on the part of the publisher.

Your old college class textbooks are your friends. Dig out your old general biology, general chemistry, calculus textbooks that may have been collecting dust somewhere in your basement and READ those and work all the problems. if you have those down, you should be fine. 😴

If i were you, i'd buy at least ONE of the pearson tests, i've heard rumors that some people have seen some of their questions on the real deal😴

I took the PCAT in June and studied Dr. Collins....yes it was helpful but for only about 10% of the questions!!!! This was my first time taking it but I heard that the questions were alot harder than previous exams. Still haven't got my scores back yet so hopefully I did well.
