Does anybody attend Hofstra's PhD clinical program? I am applying to programs (mostly PsyD but now condering PhD as well) in the winter and I am interested in Hofstra's program. I am looking for a primarily CBT focused program, and so Hofstra seems perfect. If anybody who is a current student could give me any info or PM me, that would be great. I am wondering about quality of classes, my chances of getting in, funding, and living in the Hempstead area among other things.

If you do live there stay away from Terrace Avenue and and the Heights. I am not sure offhand if the PhD program is fully funded but I do know the undergraduate and master's programs are WAY overpriced!

It is not funded (at least not fully). I have a friend entering in the fall, and I know funding has been one of his concerns, but he was up for a research assistantship. I'm not sure what happened with that but apparently funding opportunities like this are available; they just might be difficult to get.

This is what I hear so far. However, when I put it in perspective, I assume it would still be cheaper than a PsyD program, correct? Most of the schools I am applying to are PsyD programs, and I figured I'd toss a couple PhD programs in there as a long shot. I am very attracted to Hofstra's program in particular, as it seems very CBT heavy, and a bit more clinically oriented than some other programs I have researched.
