Can someone please explain how one elimates the answer choices by looking at the symmetry of the first fold on the hole punching questions

This may very well be the easiest section on the DAT. First look at your first fold with a line of symmetry where the first fold ends. Then look at your final punches, and the answer choice must have those punches bisecting the LOS. If not, then you can eliminate an answer choice..hope this makes sense.

get a piece of paper and try to fold it 3 times in every possible shape. i should take you about 1hour, after that you should be able to predict or solve every question.

This section is probably the easiest in PAT

Create a simple model for practice. Take a sheet paper and fold it diagnal so the ends line up. You will have a rectange left over at the bottom. Cut that off. Now you have a square sheet of paper. fold it in half, then half again. Crease the paper nicely. Rotate the paper and fold in half then half again. Make good creases. You will have 16 squares. Any hole puches must be in the center of the square. Have fun practicing and learning.
