I'm gradually becoming a home study student and going to fewer and fewer lectures (M1), and our noteservice puts lectures on adobe flash player. I like to watch some of them, but they are often painfully long / slow. Adobe flash player is a plugin that lets you see the videos only through streaming.
Does anyone know any ways to play adobe flash player videos at higher speeds (like double)? Or convert them to a format for real player or windows media player?

[I've been programming for a very long time, but I've only had about 8 hours of flash training (I discovered that I don't like/don't have talent for multimedia, so I quit), so take my advice with a grain of salt.]

Okay well this one has gone unanswered long enough. Nobody knows how the flash file in this particular instance is produced and whether the file is embedded within the flash file. It could be a simple player which takes a movie file and streams it, or it could be that the flash file actually contains the movie (embedded). Regardless, if you have some basic HTML skills, look at the source, see if you can figure it out (look for .mov/.mpg/.mpeg file URLs that maybe you could just copy and paste into your browser, and download the video file.. probably not going to be the case, but look at the source anyway.) If the file is embedded, good luck 😉.

I'm confident that your school has an IT support staff that knows what they are doing. Talk to them, tell them your concern, and they will certainly try to accommodate you. If you're having trouble, many others are as well.

Thanks, I don't know any programming or html but I'll talk to the IT staff and see if I can sort it out next week.
