In achiever they have two separate questions on two different tests. the questions form test 3 asks what organs are involved in thermoregulation: and the answer choices are skin and sweat glands (the right answer) and the other answer is pancreas and liver.... but arent the pancreas and liver involved in homeostasis? isnt't that synonymous with thermoregulation???

thermoregulation is only a component of homeostasis.

Thermoregulation deals only with regulating our body temperature to be optimal...i.e. sweating when it is hot outside or when our body is metabolizing a lot of food at once.

Homeostasis refers to overall balance in the body, including balancing salt levels, themperature, H2O, etc.

The answer choices you were talking about are these two:

B. Capillaries and sweat glands
C. Pancreas and Liver

Yes, the pancreas is involved in homeostasis, as is the liver. And yes, thermoregulation is also a form of homeostasis, but the pancreas and liver have nothing to do with this type of thermoregulation. There are many different kinds of homeostasis control. The pancreas controls homestasis such as the body's energy (via glucose and insulin), while capillaries and sweat glands control homeostasis of the body's temperature (via blood vessels and evaporation through sweat).
