So I'm sure y'all have read my posts I applied late with a 2.9 sci and 3.0 overall with a 290. I want to make this summer as useful as possible while working full time...I still have 4 classes left and do y'all think I should take 2 of those this summer and up my GPA or retake the OAT this summer...I was thinking since they'd be post grad it would look good to have a 4.0 in those..confusing 🙁🙁

4 classes probably isn't going to affect your overall gpa very much so I'd say the OAT is more important at this point. I'd say rock the OAT this summer and do well in your classes in the fall because although they won't impact your gpa very much, it would still be nice to be able to show in upward trend in your grades.

is there any way you can do part time?

I think most schools want to see some improvement.Try as much as you can to do good in your classes since they are required and you have to put the grades into the supplementary application. And they will see that added improvement.

And try as hard as you can to increase your OAT. Like I said I think it is best if you put off the test until you can really study for it, if not then you are just wasting time and money. I submitted everything by decemeber, and even retook my oat in december. And still got invites.

Just work on re -wording your application, essay, explain any low grades and what you learned. Remember you don't have to wait to take the OAT to start on your application and you do get the scores the same day. So if you want to get everything in by sept, oct or even nov, which i still consider early then take the test during that month.

Hey you private messaged me earlier. I suggest taking OAT again, and try to have more optometry experience. As I someone said earlier, taking 4 courses won't help unless those are required/recommended courses.

I spoke with NECO yesterday after my app was re reviewed...they said they are looking for a 300 and she can't advise me on whether to take more classes and Oat. She said if it were her shed take classes next semester till December and retake the oat and apply then but I feel like December is late to apply:/:/
