Hi all, I am new here, but have been reading posts for some time now. I am trying to get a head start on filling out my PTCAS application for this fall. I can not recall many, if any, items that I could list under the "Honors" section. Has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone left it blank? Has anyone left it blank and been accepted? Just trying to see what the common consensus is about this.

Thanks! 😀😀

Hi there, I just wanted to point out the application that can be currently filled out on PTCAS is only good for the upcoming year (class of 2015) the deadline is May 15th. That means if you plan on next fall you will have to fill out an application that will be available July 2nd. For your question, I placed the years I made president or dean list in addition to graduating with honors. My transcripts listed the semesters I recieved honors so it was not difficult to recall. Best of wishes next fall.
Here is the link to explain the application deadline.

Does anyone else have any input on this?

I listed all my scholarships that were awarded throughout my undergrad.

Has anyone been accepted with little to no items to list in this section?

Thanks

Honestly (and take this with a grain of salt), I think that's really just there in case you have something, but it won't be super important. Maybe if you've been published in a peer reviewed journal or have won some national research grant, then it might give you a bonus. I don't think you'll be penalized by not having anything there. I think I just put down the times I was on the Dean's List, but I doubt it had much, if any, effect on my application.

And like Burly Man said, don't fill it out now if you're applying in the fall, because PTCAS closes in May and won't reopen until July. Any info you put in now will be deleted and you'll have to start from scratch in July regardless. It may not be a bad idea to look around and familiarize yourself with the system, but don't spend a ton of time on filling it all out now.

Yeah, I realize now that I have to wait. But like you said, at least I am familiar with it, it definitely seems like a 2nd job just filling out the application!

I appreciate the feedback.

Anyone else care to share their experience?

I have 2 things in the Honors section. Being captain of a team, and being hte recipient of a Bank of America scholarship. Nothing prestigious or really worth noting. Pretty sure the honors section doesn't carry too much weight if the rest of your app is strong
