  1. Pre-Medical
Hi There,

First time poster, Big time reader. I'm currently at a Canadian university studying chemistry. Now my plan was to apply to Irish medical school, specifically RCS Dublin...unfortunatley I found out they require a honours degree and I only have a major.

Should I apply to the RCS in Bahrain and then transfer over in a couple of years to RCS Dublin?

Have any advice for me?

Hi there,

First off, it's impossible to transfer between Bahrain and Dublin, and difficult to see why.

Secondly, the Honours degree is referring to an Irish degree, as some Irish/British universities offer "Ordinary" degrees that are three years, not four etc.
So with a Canadian 4 year degree you'll be fine.

for that information. Just curious, I read all the stats on who got accepted at schools in Ireland and I'm very curious to hear why people choose Trinity so many times for their number one option..

Cause it's the most famous probably of the Irish medical schools. I lived right beside Trinity when I was in Dublin and I did not pick it as my first choice. My reasons were the very, very high costs of living and the long commute times to the different hospitals you'll be stationed at. I picked UCC first mostly for the cheaper cost of living (but way less commuting time is a perk too!).
