Hello,

I am currently a student at the u of a and working at the hospital full time. I was able to track down a few PGY-1/2 students to pick their brains as what to expect with the MCAT and the expectations in medical school. My biggest question is, if you complete undergrad at university x and then you apply for grad school at university x, what are the chances of you attending the same school for all your studies. I know obviously some of the decisions will be based on MCAT results and undergrad GPA. A few people said it would be wise to attend a smaller institution provided their credits are approved (to obtain a higher gpa ) etc but now that I'm in school, I don't really want to switch, but I'm nervous because I know the gpa reqs for the u of a med school are quite high. Thoughts and input? Thanks in advance, cheers!

They won't look at where you went to university in Canada. So going to Calgary or Alberta or UBC won't make a difference at all. Its all about the GPA, MCAT, ECs, Interview. Admissions don't care what school you went to because all schools in Canada are pretty similar (there is no prestige difference between undergraduate in Canada).
