I was curious which had a better residency program for Interventional Radiology.

I like how Penn has an integrated surgery/diagnostic rad residency option.

I don't know as much about Hopkin's program, however the one resident I know LOVES it... says its not very stressful, fun, etc.

I don't know how they compare in terms of on-call hours, expectations, etc (hence this post)

Thanks for the help!

Resident at Hopkins. Awesome program. Lots of info on our website at URL="http://www.rad.jhmi.edu/residents"]http://www.rad.jhmi.edu/residents[/URL]. Solid IR division... trained many of the guys at Penn. Key to Hopkins program is flexibility -- you can design your own IR track (or whatever else), and your fellowship is guaranteed if you want to stay.

Call schedule is complex but very reasonable. Basically night float system, 10-12 hours/shift. Call is busy but reasonable and fair. Overnight call only during years 2 and 3. Approx 12 weeks overnight call throughout residency.

I looked long and hard at Penn... great program, nothing bad to say about it. Certainly can't go wrong there.

We generally have 8-9 interview days in Nov-Jan, interview 90-100 applicants. We are expanding the program to 9 residents/year. Please feel free to PM me with any questions.
