which of the following is an example of a humoral stimulus for hormone release?
A. the stimulus for the release of cortisol
B. the stimulus for the release of oxytocin
C. the stimulus for the release of insulin.
D. the stimulus for the release of TSH.

First of all, humoral stimulus is hormone released due to changes in blood level.

I can get rid of TSH because that's thyroid stimulating hormone released when there is not enough thyroid hormones so that's hormonal stimulus.

I am not sure about oxytocin.

I think it's either cortisol or insulin.
Cortisol is released when there is not enough calcium in blood level.
insulin is released when there is too much glucose in blood level.

so which one is the correct answer?

when i first saw this questions, my initial answer is insulin. Cortisol kind of makes sense but not sure. I know the result of cortisol will effect blood sugar level but not sure if it's a direct humoral stimulus.

Insuline, because it has the homeostasis regulation capability as well as "negative feedback effect B/W a substance in extracellular fluid and endocrine gland". PTH is another example. Cortisol is hormonal. Right?

lol, U know what...I was thinking that cortisol = calcitonin becuz both of them starts with C ... 🙁

Its insulin.....

Note:- Cortisol has nothing to do with calcium Joon!!! Its a hormone that fights stress by breaking glucose to provide energy.
PTH, and calcitonin are calcium hormones

I thought it might help you to solve this endocrine system question.
.The stimuli that activate the endocrine organ fall into three categories: hormonal, humoral, and neural.
The most common is the hormonal, in which endocrine organs are put into action by other hormones. For example, many anterior pituitary hormones stimulate other endocrine organs to release their hormones into the blood. As the hormones produced by the final target glands increase in the blood, they feed back to inhibit the release of anterior pituitary hormones and thus their own release. Changing blood levels of certain ions and nutrients are known as humoral stimuli. For example, the release of insulin by the pancreatic cells is promoted by increasing blood sugar levels. .
