Came across an interesting article about a public-private hospital in Madrid where the CEO got caught saying he wanted to increase the waiting lists and avoid unprofitable procedures: A privatized hospital that turns away patients opens a new war between Ayuso and the left

Had no idea Spain had hospitals like this with private investment. I had to laugh a bit reading it since this probably happens every day in the US but it seems so strange to see it in another country, especially Western Europe. Seems like they ironically make money by doing less surgery, a business model more similar to our insurance companies.
