I went to a job fair this past week which I initially thought would be a clever way to meet folks who had contacts with the anesthesia groups at their hospitals. What I wasn't expecting was the number of private practice groups who were now becoming hospital employees.

With the ever changing healthcare climate is this the wave of the future? Should those of us who will be facing the job market soon accept this as the new norm?

Thanks,

Hip

There are several places that I looked at in years past who have undergone this sort of re-organization. I am not sure if it was to hedge against Obamacare type stuff or if there were other reasons.

While you won't make the same kind of money seen in pure private practices, it can still yield a large amount of cash depending upon payer mix, location, etc.
