Hot do practices work?

How do mental health practices work? I see there is usually a director and then a group of other therapists working for one practice. Does this just mean that they all work individually under one company name (so the benefits are less overhead) or do the other therapists work for the director and the director get a cut of the services provided by the other therapists? If it's the latter, do some directors really get enough clients that they can hire 6 or seven other therapists as well?

It can be done both ways you describe. Depends on many factors...
