Thought i'd start a thread to discuss some of the hot topics brewing in derm these days. Newest discoveries, latest research, topics people are really interested in or whatever there is buzz about....Lets discuss🙂

no one is replying, so here are a couple...
does well's syndrome exist?
treatment of atypical spitz nevi, or atypical spitzoid proliferation?
vitamin d and cancer risk...
are demodex related to rocacea or seb derm?
will combining map-kinase inhibitors with B-RAF inhibitors prevent the induction of SCC's in melanoma pt's?
will plant-extract field treatments like picato replace 5FU?

A patient brought his Picato into the clinic the other day to get help applying it. I couldn't believe how small the tubes were considering the expense! I haven't seen enough patients using Picato to compare it to 5FU treatments. Nobody wants to fork out the money for it.

The cost makes little sense given it is a plant extract. It is not like this is a designer drug...

It's a purified compound from a plant so its patentable. High prices will ensue and this the standard formula for pharma.
