Hi guys. So I've got an invite from Iowa (I'm out-of-state) that I'm happy about. I plan on staying in a hotel but I've never booked at any hotels.
My interview is about 1 month from now and my question is when I need to reserve the room at hotel so that to make sure that rooms will be available in a month.

Thank you all for answering . GL to all.:luck:

Hey congrats on your interview! I interviewed there last year in November. I definitely think rooms will be available even though you don't make a reservation, but it is always safe to make a reservation a couple weeks in advance for peace of mind. By the way, I recommend you check the interview section of SDN for Iowa. The interviewer basically asks you a series of questions (about 20 I think) and tape records your answers. I wish I would have looked at the questions in advance. GOOD LUCK on the interview.

at Iowa they give you a hotel right? The Coral Inn or something like that, call um up

Thanks for your answers. I'll book it a week before.

Yeah, you're right SDN is a great source of info especially some interview questions. Thank you all for advice.

Why only a week before? I booked mine a full month before, make sure you get the right stuff and they are not sold out. Also at Iowa they have special discounted rooms at the hotel that might sell out.

I'm an out-of-stater so I won't meet any Iowians ;0

Hey this might help. I was at Iowa a week ago for a med school interview. I stayed at heartland inn in coralville/iowa city. They have a shuttle that takes you to the hospital/med/pharm/dental buildings. I told them I was staying there for an interview and they gave me the hospital rate which was $52. I booked it only 5 days in advance. Its usually pretty easy to get rooms except on fridays before football games, but that shouldnt matter with interviews.
