Hey fellow ophtho peeps,

Just wanted to start a thread for those who r looking to share hotel rooms with fellow interviewees during this expen$ive interview season...

It'd be helpful if u cld mention:
PLACE, NIGHT OF HOTEL STAY, if you're male or female, and any other pertinents.

I'll start!

Albany, night of 11/3 (Sat.), female. I'm flexible abt where to stay, though the program mentioned a special rate at Hilton.

Milwaukee, WI (MCW), for night of Oct 31, male.

I'm fairly laid back (for a medical student at least). You could be male or female but I have a strict anti-gunner policy that will be adhered to to the fullest. If you try and fool me and show up anyway, I'll have no choice but to take your interview prep index cards and shuffle them out of order.

I'll have a car so we can even drive to pre/post interview dinners.

I'm also driving to Buffalo after the interview ends on Nov 1 (for Nov 3 interview). It's about 10 hours but I have a GPS system and cool audiobooks. We'll have the night of the 1st and all of the 2nd to cover that ground. If you're interested we can split gas and probably a motel about halfway. I estimate we'd get to Buffalo early/mid afternoon Nov 2.
Estimate gas to about $30/35 each and motel, I guess that depends.

Yeah, I tried that website not too long ago, and inputted my interview dates, but had no matches. I didn't find it to be too user-friendly though. Without the ability to actually search for people who might share dates with you, you have no idea if 1 other applicant or 500 other applicants are using the site.

The thread idea is much more direct, I think. Great idea.
