Hours needed for student loans?

This next quarter starts in Dec. I'll be taking organic and lab. That is all i really want to take, because I'll be studying all quarter for the March 23 MCAT. Does anybody know how many hours you need to have to get student loans? If they don't let me take any out then I'm screwed. Although it is only 3 hours , it is still all i can/should take while studying for that beast.

I think it might depend on the school because of the differences between total cost of attendance. I would contact your financial aid department to get the best answer.

At my school, which is on the semester system, it's 6 credits to be considered "half-time" and 12 credits to be "full-time". Federal financial aid is calculated at either half or full depending on the credits you take and pass.

Wrong. You need to be half-time or more. While that may be 6 hours at some schools, it may be more (or less) at others. Summer semesters are typically less than Fall/Spring semesters as well.
