Housing in NYC

I'm starting at NYU in Aug. For those of you going there, you probably have experienced some pain in finding the right place. I've applied for on campus housing, but I'm thinking about getting something off campus, like a two bedroom apt. I kinda like to find out how much I should pay for a place. Would anyone be interested in sharing a place if the rent is arond $3200 a month?

Most people in NYC get a one bedroom and build a wall (about $1000) and make it a two bedroom. That saves a lot of money for students!

Anyone reading this posting interested in sharing a two bedroom? I will get a place around the beginning of Aug. My goal is to find a large one bedroom and subdivided it or get a small two bedroom place. I'm hoping to get something at the $1200 - $1400 a month per person range. Anyone interested in sharing a place, please let me know.
