UOP has two apartments. One that's been there for ages. My cousin who graduated in 1989 lived there, and so did her two younger sisters. Oddly enough the youngest one got the same room some 10 years later.
The older one is about a few blocks from campus. The newer one is out in the presidio. I've never seen the presidio one though. I'm sure someone in the forums have seen both and can tell you more.
You can read more about it from UOP. But they don't have every little detail. Of course there's always off campus housing.
I'm also curious. I noticed the rent for one of the apartments (just 1 person) was around 1400$ a month. What are prices if you find somewhere on your own that is decently close?
You don't need a car, but having one certainly doesn't hurt (except your wallet). Apartments rarely come with parking included, and street parking is $75/year (Plus inevitable parking tickets at $53 a piece) or 200-400/month for a private space.
