Hi everyone

As I will be attending UT Houston this upcoming fall I've been thinking about where I'm going to live. I've already applied for the UT housing but that's no guarantee. I was wondering if anyone had other helpful information like if there is a complex where a lot of students live, places to stay away from, places to look for, etc.

Thanks in advance

congrats on getting in! im starting there this year also.
i am living about 25 min away up 290. i am right on a park and ride so i am just planning on riding the bus down there. so far everything that i have seen really close to school has been really expensive. if the ride starts to be too much this year i guess i will have to try and find someplace closer. most of the places close to UH look pretty shady though. i wouldnt want to stay there.

I used to live near UT Houston Housing. There are about 4 or 5 apartment complexes on the same road/ around UT housing. I lived at Harvest Hill. I enjoyed it and it was quiet. Just go check out UT housing and the apartment complexes around it. Plenty to choose from

So there weren't any complexes where students tended to 'congregate'?

From what I've gathered, Lanesborough, Greenbriar are main apartment complexes. Also a lot of condos to lease/buy in the area. I wish everyone would congregate on this thread instead of having to hunt between the various texas/UT Houston/Baylor threads for housing help!!

PS just realized this was in the dental thread, but i guess it doesn't matter, we all need places to live, right?? 🙂

I live in UT housing and would not trade it for the world. The free shuttle is right outside my door so I can make it to school in 15 minutes. Some of my friends commute into the city and then take the shuttle but it stinks. There really isn’t a spot where the students congregate because there are so many places to live close to the school and we have a good bus system. By the way, if you have a family, I would live closer to school. Also, congratulations on getting into the bestest school ever. You’ll love it here👍.
