How AACPM calculates GPAs....

Hi everyone,

I know there have probably been TONS of threads about this, but I still had a few questions. I called AACPM a couple of times and I keep getting different answers based on whoever answers the phone which is confusing me!

I have taken classes at two community colleges before I transferred to my university where I am right now. So I have been to a total of THREE undergraduate institutions.

I was told I need to send transcripts from ALL THREE colleges which I understand.

I was told that I will have one OVERALL GPA INCLUDING ALL GRADES FROM ALL THREE COLLEGES, IS THAT CORRECT?

OR

I was ALSO told that I have will have three overall GPAs, one from EACH SCHOOL, IS THAT CORRECT?

I was told that AACPM takes a picture of all transcripts and posts it on a piece of paper for EACH podiatry school you APPLY to? Is that correct?

How many GPAs totals should I be expecting when I apply? Is it just OVERALL and SCIENCE?

Please help!

They have their own system. You result with one overall gpa and one over science gpa which the schools see. You get a bunch of other data but the two gpa's are whats important.

I was in a similar situation, having transcripts from three schools. I did have to send all my transcripts in from each institution I attended. There will not be a separate GPA for each school on your application, just a combined GPA. You will get an overall GPA and a Science GPA which as mentioned, are the important ones. You will also see each section broken down into a GPA as well (GPA for biology, physics, Math, English and other non-science classes).

About the pictures of transcripts being posted on a paper for each school, I think everything is pretty much digital. They could possibly keep a hard copy for file keeping purposes but that isn't how your app is sent to all the schools. I know Barry and NYCPM received everything electronically for sure.

If the school only gets OVERALL gpa's, how do they know what courses were taken at CC and what courses were taken at University?

Because you tell them? And they verify through all your transcripts?

Well some people are saying gpas is all the schools get?

They see everything you input onto your applications. They verify grades through the transcripts you send in. Your transcripts state where you took the classes as well as your app.
