What will be the pay after completing DDS or DMD for international students. I would like to know if anybody has any idea about salary for international dentist with H1-B visa. Also $ for dentist holding green card..

well i would like to know abt the salary situation too. any1 working as a dentist after finishing the international programs ,pls help out here

as far as salaries for poeple on h1 and for green card or citizens.... i dont think thr will be any difference. the criteria for granting a h1 is the the employer shouldnt underpay the person, the salary should be on par with perm residents or citizens. getting some1 to sponsor ur h1 viisa might be a problem because thr a lot of dentists who feel its a major hassle getting allthe paper work done.
a perm resident might have more options. thts all.

getting some1 to sponsor ur h1 viisa might be a problem, This statement is true.

Now a days getting H1-B visa is more difficult than anything...As of i know Green Card processing is also halted may be it take more than 7 to 9 years to get one...

So do you guys know anybody recently completed studies and got H1 Visa sponsored as dentist by any employer?

I am not talking about some one who got H1 sponsored 2 years before. I am talking about current year... or year before...

Now a days H1 becomes impossible as soon as H1 quota open getting filled in few weeks by software guys...

I have a friend who received her H1 last year ,she is in California and was the last batch to finish the regional board exam before all the chaos began about the bench exams etc.

This is exactly what i have heard too..!! Also the dentist i was observing under told me that it is less of a hassle to hire someone as an 'independent contractor' as for tax purposes for the employer. We on the other hand can be employed only on an 'full time employee status' which had some tax implications for the employer whcih i did not undertstand.. 😕 Also on an employee status we have to be employed for a minimum of 40 hrs per week and an independent contractor has no such restrictions..!!

Just go and work in Canada you get a citizenship there

And by the way she paid 300 dollars per day and 22% of any production above a $1000 for that day. Its a small mountain community where she practices and this is all she offers but i am sure a big city dentist would definitly pay a lot more than that...this may be the minumum...!!Don't know though...eager to know other options though!!
