I took COMSAE E through my school a month and a half ago after having just started boards study. I was still in classes so I hadn't really dedicated much time to boards yet, but I scored a 518. Since then I have been studying hard every day and my test date is May 26th. I feel good about how my preparation thus far and am hoping for a decent COMLEX score (I'm also taking the USMLE). However, I never really looked into the significance of the my COMSAE score. How much stock should I put into it? Is COMSAE E fairly accurate at predicting actual scores?

They're as accurate as any other $60 practice test.

But seriously, COMLEX exams seem to be heavy in certain areas on certain cycles, the questions are godawful, etc. Just keep studying, do your best, and you should be fine.

My COMSAE D was within 20 points of my COMLEX score. Still think it was a fluke though.

Hey, I was curious if you could give me any insight into what COMSAE E is like? My school is making us take it before we can take COMLEX, so I'm trying to prepare most efficiently. What systems do you feel were emphasized on this specific COMSAE?

Yes, I would also like to know if COMSAE is "updated" to reflect the evolution of the COMLEX exam throughout the years. The other COMSAE's are relatively older and from what I understand the exam has changed in many ways. So how did everyone feel about COMSAE E?

None of you will likely take this advice... but here goes.

rather than trying to predict "where you are at" with studying (ie searching for the formula to predict uworld %/combank/comsae to real score) - just go back and study more. there is no prediction formula. believe me, we all looked for it. control the variable that you can control. study more.

Agreed. COMLEX feedback for improvement sucks, and that's a generous word to use. Buy a question bank, supplement your review source with it, and if you notice an disease, pathway, etc. that you're consistently missing, dig into the primary sources for better context.

Get used to finding your own answers and knowing where to look, by the way. Spoon feeding ends after COMLEX 1.
