(i passed out of bio 1)

(passed out of english 1)
Gen chem 1
orgo 1

the rest of my classes i received all A's in. (about 50 credits)
My gpa is a 3.9
i am a psychology major, and am planning to minor in biology.

as far as ec's i only have about 20 hours of volunteering,
and about 15 hours of tutoring.

i havnt started volunteering this year, but am planning too, im mostly worried about my ec's

is there anything i can do from now to highly increase my chances at an MD school?
i really dont care where i go, just as long as its in the u.s. and an MD school

also, is passing out of some of the pre reqs going to be a problem?
thanks!

Some schools will accept AP credit for the prerequisites and some expect you to supplement by taking a higher level course of the same type: http://www.dartmouth.edu/~nss/nav/pages/school/Med%20School%20Course%20Reqs/MedSchAP08.pdf In case this list isn't current, you need to do your own research.

Keeping your GPA high is important. Keep up the good work.

For ECs, tutoring is good. Community service is essential. Clinical experience is essential, whether obtained through work, volunteering, or clinical research. Most have about a year and a half of this with weekly involvement. Physician shadowing is expected by most, but not all schools, but this need not be a consistent or lengthy experience. About fifty hours spread among 2-3 different types of doctor is fine. Leadership of some sort is very desirable, as is a research experience (for the latter a year is about average, but even a summer's worth is better than nothing, and it need not be science research). Other than this, some interesting hobbies help. Joining clubs doesn't help, unless you become a leader or do community service.
