Calc physics - I'm going to pass/fail as I realize im not the best at calculus and will do algebra based physics my senior year.

My junior year I'll be taking 7 upper division biology classes. This opens up my senior year for a year of algebra physics, analytical chemistry, and bio chemistry, with the possibility to re-take calc 2 since it is counted as science gpa and the C+ is bringing me down. I shouldn't of taken in since it is not even required.

I was doing chemical engineering but have switched to biology and am planning to pursue dental school and fix my rough start.

I am just curious if I am going in the right direction.

Dont retake Calc 2 if it isnt required. When you retake, the grade isnt replaced. If its 4 credits of C+, and you get a B the 2nd time around, you'll now have 8 credits bringing your science GPA down.

Having a cumulative GPA of ~3.4 going into your sophomore year is nothing to worry about. Just keep doing well in your science classes. You still have a lot of those left to bring up your sGPA, so I wouldn't worry about re-taking Calc 2.

The original grade is replaced. Which is why it is appealing. I could turn that C+ into a B+. I was out of it first semester hence the difference of one whole gpa point between the semesters.

What slm is saying is that when aadsas calculates your GPA, they take the average of both, regardless of how your univ calculates it.

What is the difference between BCP gpa and osGPA because math is in osGPA?
If BCP does not include math I have a 3.67 and osGPA a 2.3? Can someone please clarify.

BCP is biology, chemistry, and physics.
Science GPA has the above three, math, and other science as seen here...

So my BCP gpa is strong at 3.67. Sigh of relief. In the application process is the BCP gpa more important than the osGPA or science GPA?

Schools look at all 3 score types (OGPA, BCP, OSciGPA) with varying weights. I would say there's no absolutes for any schools requirements except their absolute minimum cutoffs. For instance, Midwestern has a cutoff of like 2.75 BCP or something like that.

The ADEA guide to dental schools has each dental school listed with their average GPA acceptance requirements to give you a guide.

AADSAS also reports a combined GPA with and without +/-.
