So the title pretty much says it all. How bad is it to submit a secondary 2 months after your AADSAS was mailed in.

There is this one school's supplemental that I didn't do, but figured I should probably complete it.

Or, is it too late at this point (with mediocre stats at best) or would the ADCOMS see that the supplemental was sent in 2 months later and just throw it out completely?

Any opinions welcomed, thanks

since i have an opinion on everything....

i think if i was an adcom, id say "what was THIS applicant doing for two months that made them forget about our secondary?? he/she lacks conscientiousness and/or isn't interested in attending our school!"

or maybe they just stick it with the rest of your stuff and roll on. can you get an interview w/o completing the secondary? they might not consider your app complete yet. i guess at this point, it depends on whether or not you're grabbing at admission straws and tying up loose ends...idk dude, i might just submit it, but they might give you the "........really?" side eye.

Short answer: no.

Long answer: if you REALLY wanted to go to this school, you would have done it by now. why waste money on a school if you really don't want to go there? I didn't finish my Boston University secondary because I decided not to waste $100 + potential interview costs on a school I didn't really care to go to and I definitely regret even adding it to my AADSAS.

Although, I guess like the above person said, if you're grabbing at straws, maybe you should do it?

That is what I was concerned with. If I was ADCOMS, I'd see the 2 month gap and throw the file away completely because it shows that the applicant doesn't care about the program. Will this happen, or will my file just get piled onto my AADSAS.

I feel like the answer should be "No" as hail2pitt has stated. However, I just wanted to add in the school to increase my chances of getting into A school, so essentially a "back-up" school because you just never know. Grasping for straws in a sense like WhiteCoatWonder said. I understand where you are coming from, like with BU, unfortunately, I do not have a 3.7 GPA... haha

I figured if I already paid the $75 for the primary, what's another $75 to have a chance at getting in. In the long run, that $75 is nothing compared to a year I would waste if I didn't get into any school. Though... I haven't even finished the essay they require... so would it be wise to just apply to other schools that do not have a long supplemental (if my main priority was to increase my chances of getting into a school) or to just complete the secondary that I have hanging around.

someone's gettin' wooorrriiiied. don't worry, keep your seatbelt on, everything will be fine...as for this:

agreed...its true but...i really don't know how it works with rolling admission, if thats what this school has. i don't know if your file gets earmarked if you're all paid up and e-submitted first but you're missing a few things OR if they put the apps that are missing something all in a pile and go back through...later? ive got one class missing but i was complete 7/11/11 sooo am i starting all over when i do my academic update? idk, but its a relatable story.

anyway, back to the bold part of the quote, if thats how you feel, i say go for it. if not, you'll always wonder. i'd rather put 75 bucks in my gas tank twice buuut thats me.

If money is an issue, ignore this whole post!

If money is not an issue:
My opinion is that everything depends on how much you want to go to that school. If you're looking to just add more schools to have a better chance then... If you really like the school, fill it out. If you don't, pick another one! Ultimately, I would rather wait an extra year and go to a school that I would be happy at, instead of being miserable for 4 years at a school that I hate, but that's just me and most other people probably don't feel the same 😛
