Well, there's always a chance you won't get accepted, but looking at UDM's acceptance rate of interviewees, it's phenomenally high, I think it's pretty close to 85~90%.

That means as long as you don't seriously F it up, you are getting in?

Has anyone in the past who seriously thought they did really horribly on the interview and still got in?
My interview date is approaching and I am getting nervous.
Who knows if this might be my first and last pre-dec interview.

Just wondering where you got that percentage. Is there some data available out there?

At my interview at UDM this cycle, I met somebody who was interviewing there for his 3rd time. I think he kept getting rejected because english was not his first language. He said he would just close up and panic when they asked him the "curveball" type questions.

it's on ADEA, around 240~ish were interviewed , and 210 got acceptance or were offered seats (which doesn't mean they enrolled, but they still received offers), so that's very very high.

that really sucks. If he received interviews three times in a row, he must have pretty competitive stats.

Yeah, he had a high GPA and good DAT scores. He was nontraditional as well (worked for a few years after undergrad), so that may play a role.

You are not guaranteed a spot once you interview but pretty darn close, especially if you're a pre december. As long as you are able to answer the questions they ask knowing there is no right or wrong answer you should be golden. This is just what I have heard from current dental students from UDM... Goodluck !

I can't seem to find it. Do you happen to have a link?

2thDDS would you mind if I asked what those stats are for Michigan, University of Illinois at Chicago and southern Illinois university? Thanks

For SIU, its pretty much a done deal if you've been interviewed. Every person that I know who got an interview at SIU got accepted.

Wow thanks man. That's very helpful and very relieving to hear 🙂. You got anything on umich??

UMich
a) In-State - 113 interviewed, 73 offers made
b) OOS - 183 interviewed , 116 offers made.

How was your UIC interview?

Wow, less in state that out of state interviewed?? That crazy! But thank you for that! I'm actually in high hopes for all three schools now! The UIC interview was my first so I was most nervous for that one, BUT I think it was the most informal and laid back interviews I've had. The MMI at mich was very informal as well and a lot less stressful than anticipated. But overall I think UIC was my most laid back and I would've done a lot better had I not been so nervous. They were closed file, so just go in there and sell yourself, they're very interested in what you have to say. Good luck man, hope to be your classmate some day 🙂

Yeah man...Good luck. They've(UIC) reduced their seats from 60+ to only 50 now which is sad 🙁

Oh I know! It's an awesome school, I'd love to be accepted there
