How can I improve my GPA? What are my chances of getting in?

Hey guys! I'm new to this forum and I am a pre-med student. I am currently a senior and I have a very very low GPA because I was registered for classes my very first semester and did not go because I didnt know I was there. I received F's in all the classes and despite the fact that Ive been working my butt off, I am stuck with a 2.33. I know I will be wasting my time applying but what are my chances? How can I improve this?

Complete a special master's program. Or, considering your GPA, I'd say maybe even get another bachelor's degree and rock the grades; at some point hopefully if you have enough credit hours it'll bring up the GPA.

Have you taken your MCAT yet? Glorious ECs you could mention? because right now, the way I see it, you're going to have to really really really work your butt off to apply.

This confused me too. How could you not know you were there? You paid tuition and went through the trouble of picking out classes, so you had to know you were signed up for class. Perhaps you mean more literally, like you had really really really low self-esteem, and so you started to believe you were so worthless that you no longer even existed? I hope not, because that would be worse than just never going to class.

I think the OP meant he signed up for classes and maybe thought he dropped them. But it turned out that he didn't. I guess that's what happened?

Another option for you to consider is applying to DO (osteopathic) medical schools. If you repeat all the classes with an F, taking the same number of credit hours, their application service will only include the new grade in their calculation of your application GPA. (MD application service will essentially average the two grades instead.) You can redeem your GPA very quickly this way.

Applying with a 2.33 will not get you into DO or MD schools.
