I have seen people talking about lecture hours of 9-5 (ie. Texas). Our school is 8-12 and there are labs 2 days a week which last 2 hours each. How my school (Kentucky) fits so much material in those hours. It does not matter how useless they are, It is not even worth skipping classes with a 8-12 schedule. But I totally understand why people skip a 8 hours/day lecture since it does not leave time to study, but I feel like I can manage a well-balanced life style. Also We have block system, so it means one class at a time. Please how other schools have lectures twice as long as ours? May be this is why our summer break is only 6 weeks... 😳

You are going to LOVE your schedule. It's a short day because you have almost no summer. But believe me, it's well worth it. Things also go at a quicker pace, but you only have 2 science classes at a time in each block. Especially once you finish your gross anatomy and biochem blocks, you will have a ton of free time.
2nd year is more traditional because you get finished in may like the regular university does. You still have class from 8-12 everyday, but you are busy in the afternoon more often with IMP--but that class is diff for everyone so you may have diff days off than other people.
But trust me, you're going to love this schedule... 🙂

Oh, and labs are in the morning. For some reason, everyone seems to get this mixed up. You have lecture then go straight to lab. You have lab EVERDAY with histo and anatomy. And you have 2 afternoons where you have other classes, i.e. your physical diagnosis class, etc.
