is there a place to find out the average board scores, or other stats, of people who have applied/gotten accepted to competitive places such as stanford, yale, harvard, columbia, etc? I don't really care about prestige as much as I care about living in a campus surrounded by incredible minds across all fields, which is why I named those schools in particular. Anyway, does anyone know where one could find this type of information, or could you fill me in on whatever you personally know about this?

As far as I know there's not a website that breaks down stats. I'm a resident at Columbia and great boards scores help but certainly aren't required by any stretch and won't get you in by themselves. The only stat I can think of is that most of the residents here are from top 20 medical schools (they're actually listed on the school homepage) or have PhDs, but there are exceptions. I can also say that the residents at columbia generally well balanced but usually have something in their application that stands out. That may include community service, research, letters of rec, grades, extra degrees etc. Additionally, most residents here are medically savvy prior to entering and have some interest in academic psychiatry either in teaching or research. I've interviewed at the other schools you mention as well but can't speak for them. You may also want to consider Pittsburgh, Penn, UCLA as great schools where you'd be surrounded by great minds.
