How did you first become interested in optometry?

Most people have a good reason why they chose optometry...but i'd like to hear how u first became interested 🙂

I was working as a software developer when I sat on my sunglasses in the car and took them to an optical shop to have the frames straightened. I got an eye exam while I was there and asked the optometrist what he liked about his job, and I became convinced right there that it was the profession for me!

long story short: i met an optometrist and started talking to him about the profession/his career, and he's influenced my own ambitions.
