I guess its pretty simple if you want to stay in the state your in school for or you want to go back to your home state. In those cases you have a place to stay and study to get licensed and then find a job. If you are planning on going to another state though how do you go about it? Do you wait until you get licensed to start applying for jobs? What if you want to apply for jobs in different states? Will they give you time to get licensed before you start working or does this have to be done beforehand?
Thanks

You don't necessarily have to be licensed to start applying for jobs. Most potential employers know that new graduates wont be licensed until June-August due to board scores and delays with state licensing boards.

There’s not a single answer to the other part of your question. No matter where you’re going to look for a job the answer is networking. Make an effort to contact the local AOA organizations, contact upperclassmen from your school that are where you want to practice, contact anyone you can. OD’s in the local professional societies have an idea whats going on with the other docs in town. Not all OD’s will be willing to help you out, but many will.
