How did you react when you got your acceptance letter?

Just a random thought. How did you react when you got into Medical School? Did you scream, dance, jump up and down, ect...

I logged into SDN and learned how to use 'Search.' It was epic.

For some reason I'm unable to use the search function with my phone or else I would provide you with the link, but there is a duplicate thread to this one. This exact topic was discussed throughout this last application cycle.

Maybe a mod could merge the two threads and the OP can read the multitude of pages written on this topic?

Until that happens, I will say that getting into medical school this year was unbelievably awesome. I called my parents, told my friends when I got to class, and I have no idea what my professors talked about that day. I walked around campus in the haze of cloud 9. After that wore off, it just felt surreal for a couple months pretty much until I moved down here. Call me dramatic but after that stressful year, this was my reaction to my acceptance at my first choice.

I called my friends Jack and Daniels and we all had a wild night...

I was at work taking my lunch break when I got my first acceptance. I just kinda did some fist pumps, forwarded the email to my wife, and ate lunch. I was really excited about it.

The second one was a phone call and I was less excited, but still very happy. I actually asked the person on the phone if the school was going to give me a scholarship.

Tossed the letter in the air and proceeded to cry.

Grabbed a handle of gin, handle of vodka, two shot glasses and found all my friends and had shots with all of them. When to the bars later. Needless to say, class the next day was out of the question.

my first acceptance was a pre-match offer (applied to mainly Texas schools) and I was happy but not too excited because it was at the low end of my list in schools i wanted to go to. My second acceptance was through the match and it was my second choice school. The match actually had a glitch so it said that I only matched to my pre-match offer which was ranked last on my list. Then a few minutes later my second choice appeared and I was ecstatic and relieved at the same time to say the least. Def took a vegas trip to celebrate a few weeks later! A few months down the road (early May) i received an acceptance to my first choice school off the wait list. At this point I felt blessed and honored to receive an acceptance from them thinking that my credentials were not good enough to earn an acceptance. All in all the whole process seemed like a roller coaster ride and emotions through the whole process reached both ends of the spectrum. It was a crazy experience and I am glad its all over. Only a few more years before the same process will be repeated (residency match) 😱.

hugged my bro. he happened to be right next to me when i got the call.

yea...like i just made the show.

My co-worker got the email at lunch at work. He gave a scream of joy, then just stood up and left work to go home and celebrate.

He didn't even finish the lunch he was in the middle of:laugh:

and ate lunch.

lol'd at this. for some reason it made me imagine you (?? whatever i imagine you to look like lol) in dunder-mifflin, casually sitting at a desk sending an email, then walking into the lunch room and eating a sandwich.

congrats!

Haha, I could definitely imagine armybound doing that. Good call.

I received an email from temple about second look week (even though I was on the waitlist) late one night and couldn't get a hold of them to find out what it meant. Called the next day and she told me that was sent to all those who were recently pulled from the waitlist and the letter of acceptance was in the mail. Proceeded to fist pump a bunch of times and run around the house

that's pretty much how it went, except it was chicken marsala pasta

I got the e-mail as my mom was pulling up to my apartment to take me to the airport to go to another interview. I pounded on my desk with both my fists and yelled "F*** you motherf*****s!!!" Which freaked my roommate out because he thought someone was trying to break into our place.

I proceeded to pour shots of cheap scotch for me, my roommates and mom (who only had one cuz she was driving me to the airport..haha). Then I ate quizno's.

I was at work when the Dean called me and it's a blur after that. I remember some tears of joy being shed....nonetheless a privilege to be chosen for this profession.

Edit: Posted on the wrong thread, sorry!

Savage.

I too was pretty mellow. I had a good feeling once I left the interview but I was still excited to have it solidified.

For my first acceptance I was on the toilet scrolling through iFunny and then I got the call. I stood up and got hyped !
