Hi, I just moved to NY and really need some advice as to how to study for the NY MPJE. I see some websites online such as rxlaw dot org, Dr. Cutie's classes, and a few others, but I don't know if they will be enough to prepare me for the exam.
Also, I see on the NY office of professions that they have various links where you can access the actual laws. So, how did you prepare for the NY MPJE? Should I shell out a couple hundred dollars for the notes/classes or just review the laws posted on the Office of professions website? Please help! I'm scheduled to take it in 3 weeks, but I need to start studying for it now. Thank you!

There have been a few threads in the past on this.

This post seems to offer some sound advice:
I got my NY license by studying prontopass materials and the laws referenced on the board's website (tip: don't print them yourself. Send PDF versions to staples and have them print it on 3 hole punched paper. Buy a thick binder when you go to pick it up). I also got a few law tips when I went to a wet-lab prep class, but I'd say prontopass was the big help.

It's tough coming from out of state, but manageable.

I would click on the "Search Forums" button on top of the page and see what else you can find. Good luck! 😉

Hi Dr. Cuties notes are good but the class to me was a waste of time and money if anything just buy his review books which also come with mc questions. I ended up studying only for a week reading ONLY Dr. Cuties notes and i was able to pass NY law. Hope this helps and goodluck!

Thank you, Matt! I got pretty discouraged yesterday when I was going over the laws posted on office of professions site (they were so dry, there was no way I would be able to study and retain them). Do you remember how long it took for you between you sending off the check and receiving the notes in the mail? I'm not sure if I will receive the notes in time to actually study it, so I may have to reschedule the exam.

I think i got his notes in a few days dont remember exactly how many though... As for the test i would suggest focus mostly on NY law as its a lot stricter then Federal law in most cases. On my test i had a few questions about controls, emergency kits, what different practitioners can prescribe, plan b age, what techs and interns can do, syringe laws, and then i would say a lot of questions in the grey area which had 2 right answers and you had to pick the best one i cant really explain what those were about.
