This is an interesting story. I applied to UIC earlier this year and was then invited for an interview in March. I have already chosen to attend elsewhere so I e-mail them to decline my interview. They then e-mail me back saying that they were glad that I would be attending my interview and that they would see me next week.
I e-mailed them again, politely stating that they misunderstood and that i Would Not be attending the interview. They then sent me another e-mail providing me with hotel info and stating that they were glad to see I'd be attending the interview. 😡 I was so frustrated at this point that I called the school and explained that I would not be coming and that I wished to withdraw from the application pool. They were polite and I thought I had finally gotten through to them, but no.
Yesterday I recieved two letters from them in the mail, the first was an acceptance letter and the second a rejection letter!!! 😱 I withdrew from the application process, didn't attend the interview, and they couldn't even keep my information straight and sent both these letters.
How unorganized are they???? I can't think it would be that hard after 4 different communications from me withdrawing!! I hope the rest of the school isn't this unorganized, for those of you that are going there next year- good luck!

  how awful is that!

Half of the people at UIC undergrad have problems with their student loans because the school messed up somewhere with FAFSA. It is also funny how the school responds to this. Someone doesn't get their loans until months after they were supposed to receive it and the school acts like it isn't their problem and "it happens".

This problem doesn't seem to be unique to UIC. I got an interview invite from Howard back in February. I called the number they left on my voicemail to decline the interview. The person who answered the phone seemed clueless and apparently only knew how to schedule interviews and not what to do when someone declines an interview. She had me send an e-mail to their Recruitment Officer to withdraw my application; which I did. So this morning, I find another voicemail telling me that I now have an interview scheduled with Howard for May 17. 😕

I guess they "loves" you real bad and don't want you to go --just like Prez Bush refusing 2x resignation from Rumsfield. Its all about love

that is just awful!!

Perhaps the exchange is going a little something like this:

Disinterested Student: "i'd like to withdraw my application please"
High and Mighty Pharm School: "DOES NOT COMPUTE. ERROR #0349082349823. Please save and close any open applications and restart."

lol...

What I love is that he/she declined the interview and still got an acceptance letter! I wonder how many other people's dreams were fulfilled and then summarily shattered by opening one acceptance letter only to find that the next one was a denial?

If you guys wanna talk about disorganized:

A friend of mine receives a letter from USC a few months ago stating she was invited to interview. When she calls to schedule the interview, they tell her that they have a record of her calling already denying the interview because she was accepted to UOP? My friend was actually rejected by UOP so she didn't know what was going on. USC then said they'd get back to her regarding an interview and the mixup- They eventually did get back to her... and didn't offer her an interview.

Now THAT's pretty disorganized to me.... not to mention cruel and insensitive.

😱 I'd put 20mg digoxin in their coffeepot.
